Registration is Open!

Tuktu paddles, the Jersey Shore Sea Kayak Association and the Jersey Paddler are please to announce the first Garden State Sea Kayak Association Symposium (GSSKS) on Saturday and Sunday, June 8th and 9th. Our base camp for the weekend is the beautiful Lake Lenape Park in Mays landing, NJ where you may paddle right out onto the lake from your tent site. Camping is free to registered participants from Friday to Sunday.

The goal of our symposium is to bring kayakers together from the region to meet, share skills and have fun. We are pleased to be hosting some of the Northeast's best paddling instructors right here in the Garden State. We are offering learning opportunities for paddlers at all levels. Our flat-water and intermediate classes will be held right on the lake. Our upper level classes will be held a short drive away in Ocean City NJ. We are pleased to offer American Canoe Association (ACA) courses and assessments as well as signature skills classes designed by top ranked instructors. We invite you to come enjoy this beautiful Pine Barren lake and our nearby Jersey Shore coast.

Courses will be conducted from 8:30 to 4:00 daily. Full and half day classes will be offered both days. We will offer a group dinner at the base camp, Saturday night.

An evening presentation is scheduled for Saturday night. Margo Pellegrino, outrigger canoeing adventurer, SUP enthusiast and environmental activist will talk about her paddling adventures across the country which were designed to raise awareness of water quality issues and actions we can all take to protect our water resources.
